Our Maths topic for the next two weeks is Alive in 5. We have been having lots of fun exploring the numeral zero. We have also been exploring all numbers to five. As you can see, we found different ways to make 5 using the Numicon. We had five penguin skittles, and we explored different number bonds to five depending on how many we knocked over and how many were still standing. We noticed that we always had 5.

We sang about 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed, five speckled frogs and Alice the Camel had five humps. We also played "fast fingers" and "bunny ears". We practised writing our numbers. We made our own number posters. We have been very busy and have been extending our vocabulary too.
