Space Centre Visit
Year 5 and 6 visited Leicester Space Centre - an out of this world trip!
As part of their study of the Earth in space, the children had the opportunity to visit the space centre. During their visit, they watched a show within the planetarium. This show informed them how astronauts prepared for life in space and what it was like to live in space. The children enjoyed exploring a wide range of interactive, hands-on displays which reinforced the learning that had taken place in school during their science lessons.
The children enjoyed sending a rocket into space, creating their own hadron collider and learning about the planets of our solar system. They reinforced their learning about the space race and the moon landing - some of the children even piloted a space capsule!
