British Science Week 2025
Tuesday 11th March - Deep Sea Yoga Discovery
Today's science activity engaged thechildren in a fun and educational activity that combines physical movement and learning about marine life and their adaptations, promoting both physical wellness and environmental awareness.
The children started off performing the starfish pose. Where they learnt about how starfish can grow back limbs if they lose them.
The next position was the crab pose. Where the children learnt that crabs use their hard shells to keep them safe.
The clownfish pose was next. The children found out how the clownfish and anemones help each other survive. Clownfish receive a safe space to live and in return, clownfish provide fish to the anemone to help rid it of harmful parasites.
We then moved on to the jellyfish pose. Where the children discussed how jellyfish move with the ocean currents and how they catch their food with their tentacles.
The seahorse pose was next. The children liked hearing about how the seahorses anchor themselves onto plants to blend themselves into their surroundings to avoid predators.
Finally, we learnt the penguin pose. The children talked about how penguins swim and how they huddle together to keep warm in their cold environment.
Have a look at some of the photographs below showing some of the poses.
