Today's activity involved the children making a fun caterpillar, then changing it into a butterfly. Now that was a challenge in itself! The children used different coloured paper, the children learnt about metamorphosis and the colours of the rainbow. 

We began by watching metamorphosis on CBeebies about Messy. The children then made a paper chain caterpillar by looping strips of paper together. Now came the challenge of folding paper to create their butterfly's wings. The children drew on faces and stuck on antennas. The children talked about the life cycle of a butterfly.
